About Otterdam
Stichting Otterdam is a Dutch nonprofit that helps institutions explore anthropomorphic arts through outreach, co-productions, and practical support. It seeks to make furry art and culture more accessible to people from a wide variety of backgrounds while honouring the fandom we’ve created.
What we do
Stichting Otterdam was first known for Otterdance, which has sold out venues in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. It received a generous subsidy from the City of Rotterdam to create the Otterdam Furry Arts Festival, a public-facing weekend event including the world’s first Furry Studies conference.

Otterdam History
Stichting Otterdam grew out of the club night Otterdance, which was run by Jack Newhorse for the first three events. On 14 July 2023 the Stichting was founded with Jack as its President and Arumar as its Secretary/Treasurer. Its first endeavour (besides Otterdance 4) is the Otterdam Furry Arts Festival, a weekend event produced at Rotterdam’s Nieuwe Instituut with financial support from Gemeente Rotterdam.
